How to Add or Edit a Blog
Navigate to the Blog Editor
1. Login to TheWebConsole
2. From the left side menu click Blog and choose Blog posts.
3. From the blog post list either "Add Post" or "Edit" on the desired blog.
Add a Blog
1. Once you have navigated to the Blog Posts screen click the “Add Blog” button, this will open the blog editor.
Edit a Blog
1. Once you have navigated to the Blog Posts screen click the “Edit” text located on the left of the blog you wish to edit, this will open the blog editor.
Create the Blog
- The Blog editor will load and your next step will be to give your blog a few key details, to do this you will click on the "Post Settings" tab at the top of your editor tools window on the left of your screen, here you will find the following:
Post:- Heading: This is the name of the page that will appear in your website's menus and in the page URL. This should be short, relevant and only contain letters and numbers. Note: This is a required field
- Page Title: This is the title that will appear in the browser tab. It is important to fill in with your page keywords for both user navigation and Search Engine Optimisation. Note: This is a required field.
- Status: Here you can select if the post is visible or hidden.
- Author: Here you can choose the author of the blog. If the author is not in the list you can click the new button to add a new author.
- Publish Date: Here you can select a time and date that you would like the blog to be published.
- Tags: Here you can add tags related to the blog. If you wish to add a new tag you can click on the "New" link to open a window to create a new tag.
- Photo: Here is where you can select the primary display image for your Blog.
- Thumb Image: This is the image that will display in blogs listing view and can be different than your blog banner image.
- Snippet: Here you can have a short snippet of text that will display in your blog listing view.
- Meta Description: When your page turns up in a Search Engine result, the Meta Description is the text that will appear underneath the result. Have it say something like, "We do Tax Returns for personal, business and sole traders in the Brisbane area. Contact us today to get your Tax Return done."
- Slug: Here you can set a different URL than your blog heading if you wish for it to be different.
- Password Protected: Choose if you would like to restrict access to this page to certain Database Marketing users or set a password to access the blog.
- View Template: You may have multiple different website page templates available. Choose the template you wish to use here. If you only have one template available, you will need to choose Default Template.
- Click the Save Button located on the bottom left of the side menu.
